Consistent with Catholic social thought, this committee seeks to foster a culture that recognizes the dignity of all persons from the moment of conception until natural death, no matter their age, race, creed, gender or ability. The means by which this committee does this is through:
- Prayer—The Rosary on the first Saturday of each month following the 8:00 a.m. Mass, and participation in the 40 Days for Life during October.
- Education—Hosting speakers on scientific and ethical matters concerning the dignity of persons; the publication of short passages in the weekly bulletin to inform and/or encourage reflection on life issues; informing parishioners of pending legislation that either promotes or threatens the lives and/or dignity of persons.
- Action—Support for organizations like Birthright and St. Gerard’s Center for Life including food, clothing and bottle drives, and participation in the annual March for Life each January.
