Welcome to the parish community of St. Mary's Church. As you learn about our parish, it is our hope that you will join us for the many activities that happen throughout the year. We are blessed with enthusiastic, dedicated and faith-filled members and look forward to having you join us.
Mission Statement:
We are a faith-filled community centered in Christ that gathers in our Father's love to celebrate in Word and Sacrament. We seek to grow in that love, to be guided by the Holy Spirit and to share an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality with all.
In the spring, Father Stephen in coordination with the Parish Council sent a letter to all parishioners with an initiative to engage our parish community. Please review the letter below.
We invite you to prayerfully consider where God may be calling you to deepen your prayer, discipleship and service. The journey of faith is never-ending, and there are always new horizons to explore, paths to walk, and opportunities to serve. As Saint Paul teaches us in both the Letters to the Romans and Corinthians, we are many and one. A diverse community with many gifts, but all united in Christ’s body. We invite you to visit our Many and One webpage or review the list of ministries below to consider where in your journey of faith God may be calling you to engage more deeply.
After reviewing the list of ministries, please consider filling out a "personalized scroll" with your commitments for the upcoming year. Below are some guidelines on how each family member can prepare their personalized scroll:
The Catholic Church in the US is having a yearlong celebration of the Eucharist. As part of our preparation for this Year Of The Eucharist, Father Matera offered a four-week series examining what the Bible teaches about the Eucharist.
Session #1 : The Eucharist Foreshadowed In The Old Testament
Session #2: The Feeding Of The Five Thousand In The Wilderness
Praying the Psalms in the Voice of Christ A Christological Reading of the Psalms in the Liturgy of the Hours Frank J. Matera In Praying thePsalms in the Voice of Christ, Frank J. Matera offers a way to pray the psalms within the Liturgy of the Hours rooted in the New Testament and the great writers of the early church. Taking his cue from Saint Augustine, Matera demonstrates how to hear the voice of Christ in the psalms so that they can be prayed in the voice of Christ and his Body, the church. In addition to this introduction to a christological reading of the psalms, Matera also provides a commentary on the psalms as they occur in the four weeks of the Divine Office.

God of peace and justice,
we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
St. Mary’s School is the Farmington Valley's only Catholic school for grades K-8 and in 2018 was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School (the only non-public school in New England to receive the designation!)
Offering a unique blending of traditional academics and 21st century technology, St. Mary's challenges today's students to actively master subject matter. Encouraged to lead and taught to serve, students graduate with confidence, well prepared for secondary education and to assume the rights and responsibilities of Christian young adults.

World Marriage Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of February.
On February 13, at our 9:30 Mass, Monsignor Frank Matera offered a special blessing
for the couples of our parish to honor their lifelong commitment as husband and wife.
