Are you curious? Perhaps skeptical? Or maybe you are just seeking some answers to life’s deeper questions. If those resonate with you at all…Alpha is for you!
Alpha is a 11-week program that provides an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith, in a friendly, open and informal environment.
Alpha is not so much a course, but an experience! Gathering at St. Mary's over an eleven week period, each Alpha brings together people from every walk of life.
Alpha is for everyone and anyone. The beauty of Alpha is that there are no questions that are too hostile, too silly, or too simple.
Alpha has no prerequisites whatsoever. We come together with one another as we are, free to be ourselves.
Many join for different reasons, with different backgrounds and points of view, but all are seeking to find whether Jesus and Christianity have any relevance for their life.
Each week follows the same pattern. A fun, informal time of fellowship around a delicious meal, a talk highlighting an important part of Christian thinking, followed by honest small group discussion.
You will find yourself not only learning from the presentation but also realize that you are building genuine relationships through engaging in open dialog with your group.

Big yes. Launch Night is the first week of Alpha, where you get to hear what Alpha is all about. If you’re curious about Alpha and like the idea of meeting new people, it’s for you. Book your place at the Launch Night – but don’t worry, there’s zero commitment to come to the rest of Alpha, it’s just good to know how much food to get.
YES! Alpha creates an opportunity for an authentic encounter with Christ, and regardless of where you are in your faith journey, that experience can never grow old or unimportant.
YES! Alpha is for anyone and everyone—people at all different places in their faith, even nonbelievers, are welcome and invited to come and see what Alpha is all about.
Nothing. While there is no need to take notes, as there aren’t any tests or assessments, many people do like to bring a notepad and pen to write down interesting or insightful things they hear.
