Reporting to the pastor, the Youth Minister is responsible for planning, coordinating and leading the implementation of youth programs and for recruiting, developing and overseeing adult volunteers. The person assuming this position will be directly engaged with students and will work with parish groups, schools and community organizations that support spiritual growth and fellowship.
The ideal candidate will be a practicing Roman Catholic, a proven self-starter, and have experience developing and leading youth ministry programs and/or activities. Strong communication and team-building skills and a demonstrated ability to relate well with youth and adults are also critical. An undergraduate degree with course study in theology is desirable and skills in music, art and/or drama are also a plus.
