Join Dr. Tsangarides as she speaks about her family’s journey with her son’s mental illness and drug addiction. As the parent of a young man who has struggled many years with addiction, Elaine Tsangarides, has called it “both our family’s greatest curse, and our family’s greatest blessing.”

Whether you have a loved one who is an addict, mentally ill or both, has a debilitating chronic illness, is dying, has dementia, or suffers in other ways, he or she has a journey that is different from ours, and yet the same: to discover joy in the midst of suffering. Dr. Tsangarides is a licensed counselor with a private practice here in Connecticut. Dr. Tsangarides is also a family therapist at Newport Academy, a residential facility for adolescents in Bethlehem, CT.
