Designed to use in the confessional, this app is the perfect aid for every penitent. With a personalized examination of conscience for each user, password protected profiles, and a step-by-step guide to the sacrament, this app invites Catholics to prayerfully prepare for and participate in the Rite of Penance. Individuals who have been away from the sacrament for some time will find this app to be a useful and inviting tool. Whether you attend confession regularly or if you have not been to Confession in some time this is a great way to refresh your memory of the sacrament. Father Matera welcomes this app and encourages people to bring this app into the confessional with them! The name of the app is “Confession: A Roman Catholic App” and it can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
Perhaps you have noticed that there is a pink envelope in your box of envelope named "St. Mary's Campus Connection." This is not a second collection. The purpose of this envelope is to to provide those who have already pledged to the Campaign with a way to fulfill their pledge on a regular basis, should they so wish.
Our annual Christmas Collection is very important for assuring that we will end the year on budget. In addition to the regular Sunday envelope, you will find two other envelopes: “Christmas Offering” and “Parish Maintenance.” Please place both envelopes in the second collection basket. Thanks in advance for everyone's support!
Are you a SMS alum? Do you know someone who is? We want YOU! Our school is now 60 years old and we are preparing for a 60th Anniversary Gala in April. We would love any memorabilia, yearbooks, photos, etc. to help us with our research. Please reach out to Toni Chagnon through the school office.
The Catholic Transcript is being transformed from a traditional newspaper to a full-color magazine which will be sent (free) to more than 192,000 Catholic households in Hartford, New Haven and Litchfield counties. The new publication will dynamically advance the tradition of this beloved, respected and award-winning newspaper which has roots back to 1829. In magazine form, The Catholic Transcript will continue to be the communications centerpiece of Catholic news and information for our archdiocese. Its visibility and relevance will be greatly enhanced with its digital presence and social media connectivity. Look for it in 2017!
One of the ways in which St. Mary's assists those in need is by providing food cards. If you are ever in need of such assistance, let us know. If you are able to contribute food cards for us to distribute, we would be most grateful.
