Holy Days of Obligation
In addition to our regular Sunday obligation, we as Catholics are require to attend Mass on six additional days
that the church has decreed as Holy Days of Obligation.
January 1* – Mary, Mother of God
May 18 – Ascension
(Annually on the Thursday of the 6th Week of Easter)
August 15* – Assumption
November 1* – All Saints Day
December 8 – Immaculate Conception
December 25 – Christmas
*Whenever January 1, August 15 or November 1
falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated.
